10 Wrestlers Set For A Big Push Following WrestleMania 35
4. The Miz
WWE loves The Miz.
The Miz works his arse off, he invites no controversy as a dedicated family man, he wrestles a safe style built to endure the punishing WWE grind, he cuts a hell of a promo, it is impossible to recall the last thing he didn't get over, he doesn't fit in anywhere else, nor would he want to go, he has enjoyed not inconsiderable fame with his popular Miz & Mrs. reality show spinoff...The Miz isn't the star John Cena was, but he has surpassed him as the most quintessentially 'WWE' talent on the roster, and its most dependable.
WWE, therefore, is going to push the babyface Miz character hard. The only problem is that Miz isn't great at wrestling as a babyface. He bombed last time out, and perfected the slimy midcard heel role to such an extent that it seemed he'd never revert back.
But here we are, arriving at the conclusion of an improbably entertaining feud opposite Shane McMahon - one that works so well because Shane had exhausted all patience as the bullsh*t hard man. Without such a loathsome foil, Miz going after several men, like he's f*cking Haku in a bar fight, is going to look absurd. The Miz aspired to be like Shane McMahon, in this ongoing storyline.
That might prove fatalistic.
