10 Wrestlers That Bombed Twice

As Kane, Glenn Jacobs portrayed one of the greatest creations in WWE history and rightly landed himself a spot in the company's Hall of Fame in 2021. Prior to becoming the Big Red Machine, though, Jacobs was bogged down with two of the worst wrestling gimmicks of all time.

To be honest, the big lad's pre-WWF days in the USWA as the Christmas Creature and Doomsday weren't exactly box office gold, but Glenn's initial forays into the World Wrestling Federation landed him with two personas he's eager to forget. Of course, first up on that front was Isaac Yankem, DDS, the villainous dentist of Jerry Lawler.

The Yankem character debuted in mid-1995 and soon became embroiled in Lawler's feud with Bret Hart. With the WWF continuing to turn audiences off with the array of stupid occupation-driven gimmicks, the appearance of an evil dentist was the last thing that fans wanted to see.

Unsurprisingly, DDS was off TV by April '96, but another horrendous gimmick was around the corner for Glenn Jacobs. Resurfacing that September, Jacobs was tasked with taking over the Diesel schtick from the departed Kevin Nash.

Not just was this a ridiculous concept, but the truth of the matter was the Diesel wasn't particularly a gimmick. Instead, it was simply Kevin Nash being Kevin Nash under a different mantle. After the then-WWF hyped the return of Diesel - and Razor Ramon, for that matter - Jacobs and Rick Bognar (Fake Razor) were immediate laughing stocks when Big Daddy Cool and the Bad Guy were brought back to Raw by Jim Ross.
