10 Wrestlers That Got BANNED From AEW

This is a strange one.

Tino Sabbatelli enjoyed a 6 year stay in WWE between 2014-2020 before he was cut loose due to cited budget cuts. That didn't sit well with an awful lot of people, especially mid-COVID pandemic. There was a lot of uncertainty, and now Tino was out of work. He'd quickly find a spot in AEW, but only for a short spell. In total, Sabbatelli worked just once on AEW programming; he teamed with Brady Pierce vs. Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta on the 21 July 2020 edition of Dark.

Shortly afterwards, rumours started to go around claiming that Tino had leaked results to sources in WWE. Those heightened when Sabbatelli then signed another deal with AEW's rival that October. According to Tino himself, Tony Khan wasn't chuffed that he'd re-signed with WWE, and Chris Jericho also called him an "NXT reject" on his podcast.

In 2022, Chris Van Vliet interviewed Sabbatelli about all of this, and he was still miffed about reports he'd been leaking results. According to Tino, he's "an internet dummy" who pointed out that he didn't care enough about some promotional war to leak results to anybody. Besides, what good would it do WWE to learn who was beating who on YouTube show Dark?

Being fair to Tino, none of this made much sense, but he did find out via good pal Andrade that Khan wasn't keen on using him again once he was let go from WWE a second time in June 2021. To this day, the dude remains confused about the whole leaking thing. He says he has no clue how it started or where those rumours came from.
