Someone else preceded The Boogeyman's more famous age-related fib too.

Ahmed Johnson has since admitted (via several shoot interviews in 2013) that he lied about his age when negotiating terms with the WWF in 1995. During crunch meetings, Ahmed told Vince McMahon, Jim Ross, Bruce Prichard and anyone who'd listen that he was a sprightly 23 years old.

That...wasn't the case. In reality, Johnson was 32 when sitting down to discuss his contract. By his own admission, Ahmed knew he had a few road miles on his body and had suffered some injuries - he didn't want that to scupper his chances of a job with the biggest wrestling promotion around though, so he lied.

McMahon was totally unaware of this when he pushed Johnson onto TV as his next big thing. Prichard has even revealed that Vince viewed Ahmed as a future World Champion, and the kind of star he could build the WWF around for years to come.
