10 Wrestlers That Pissed Off The Fans

WWE isn't the place to do your art; it's where you go to make your money.

The vast majority of independent contractors are drastically underpaid, but it's more than most places pay. For a while, before NXT was ruthlessly murdered in an inside job, it felt like art and content need not be mutually exclusive. Art was in because great wrestling with solid build was in. It's not in anymore. It's out. It's in the f*ckin' bin alongside hundreds of disused kick pads, rotten fruit baskets, and Triple H's legacy.

Nikki Cross grasped this and shot her shot; knowing Vince's particular sensibility, she pitched portraying a child-friendly superhero character with a motivational message for all the weans out there: believe in yourself, and people will believe in you!

Vince was impressed by the pitch, and, with replica mask sales in his eyes, pushed ahead with the character. Incredibly, 'Nikki ASH' was pushed as the top RAW star ahead of the return of live fans...

...who promptly sh*t all over the act on house shows because they didn't get that she was playing an old man for a fool.

In a very funny postscript to this story, remember when Shane Thorne took inspiration from it and pitched a Crocodile Dundee bit?

Great stuff.

You can't knock a galah for trying!
