1. Shayna Baszler
There's a popular theory that Vince McMahon likes to see if wrestlers are willing to make a fool of themselves and 'be entertaining' before he'll build them back up again. Last year, Shayna Baszler feigned fear of Alexa Bliss' doll Lilly in numerous silly skits, then found herself moved sideways to SmackDown in the 2021 Draft.
If this is WWE's way of building Shayna up into something special, then...it's rotten. She's only won two singles matches since splitting from old partner Nia Jax and moving to Fridays. Plus, Baszler has been chewed up as part of the interminable Sonya Deville vs. Naomi storyline and then chucked into a nothing tag with Natalya.
Whoop-de-doo.
The former MMA fighter was a tour de force on NXT, but that feels like it happened a lifetime ago. Vince's bid to make her something she isn't (a heel who's afraid of toys) has totally wrecked any momentum Shayna might've had with a series of hard-hitting, lengthy and engaging matches.
Baszler is going nowhere, which sucks.
