10 Wrestlers We Had To Love Before We Could Hate

9. Owen Hart

In 1993 and early-1994, Owen Hart was Bret's smiling kid brother who only wanted to be like his elder sibling and make a splash in the WWF. In fact, Owen fancied winning alongside Bret, and the pair decided to challenge for the Tag-Team Titles. When that failed, baby bro' Owen kicked the 'Hitman's' "leg out from under his leg".

Take that, Bret.

There was simple brilliance behind the way Owen was booked. He claimed that Bret was too selfish to tag him in against The Quebecers and keep their dream alive, and so he couldn't stomach being in his shadow any longer. This story gave '94 one of its best feuds; the Hart siblings worked awesome matches at both WrestleMania X and SummerSlam.

By the latter, fans had grown to detest Owen's whinging ways. He became an insufferable King Of The Ring and p*ssed Bret's adoring public off even more by costing him the WWF Title against Bob Backlund at Survivor Series.
