10 Wrestlers Who Are In The Wrong Role

These wrestlers are in serious need of a character/role change going forward...

Casting is arguably the most vital element in ensuring an incoming big or small screen project succeeds both critically and commercially.

Get it wrong, and there's a solid chance your upcoming TV show or movie will struggle to really connect with your paying public. No matter how brilliant and compelling a script you possess.

Get it right, and even the most dreadful and soul-crushing material will likely be overlooked on the back of a simply undeniable performance or showcase of unfiltered charisma.

And the same goes for the barmy business of pro wrasslin', too.

A star can be the most talented worker in-between the ropes on the planet, but without a role or character that fully compliments their personality or gives their fanbase a reason to sit up and truly pay attention, eventually finding themselves getting lost in the shuffle somewhat is almost inevitable.

So, from babyface wrestling machines being made to spurt out Papa H's brand of cocky "comedy", to some of the greatest talents ever to step foot in a squared-circle finding themselves on the outside looking in for way too long, these are those wresters who are in dire need of a new part to play.

10. Lacey Evans As The Veteran Who Despises YOU People

It's been well documented just how utterly bizarre WWE's handling of a returning Lacey Evans was towards the latter stages of Vince McMahon's often nonsensical run in the Gorilla Position.

Yet, far from smashing the reset button the second The Game changed in July, WWE seemed content with keeping a flip-flopping star, who had once endeared herself to the masses with her vulnerable vignettes focusing on her difficult upbringing, as a frustrated heel going forward.

And while Evans' decision to turn her back on those who had undoubtedly backed her upon making her long-awaited in-ring comeback in June did generate a decent amount of heat at the time, her desire to gain the "respect she deserved" ultimately saw the former title contender fall down the pecking order.

With SmackDown clearly lacking any out-and-out babyface contenders who genuinely connect with those in attendance at this current moment, having the military veteran hero fighting the good fight would've likely solved said headache in next to no time.

Evans comments after a recent edition of the blue show on trying too hard to please everyone and needing to "go back to basics" hint at a much needed return to that former persona. But will it be too little, too late after utterly burning her bridges with the WWE Universe throughout a turbulent 2022?
