10 Wrestlers Who Became Backstage Outcasts In WWE
9. Josh Bredl (Bronson Matthews)
Josh Bredl is not the first person to ruin a good thing with a social media faux-pas, and he certainly won't be the last. After securing a place on the WWE roster by winning the 2015 edition of Tough Enough, one tweet ultimately sealed his fate:
"Yup.. I like it.. #SocialJobbers"
In mocking The Social Outcasts, trained wrestlers who came up "the proper way," he added to the scorn that comes with a reality TV show win. His 2015 Tough Enough success was a dubious honour in the first place. On one hand, it functioned as a fast pass to WWE stardom, on the other the title had proved to be a mill around the necks of former winners (excluding John Morrison). This further stimulated the pile-on mentality in response to Bredl's tweet. He recalled:
"I was at home watching Raw as the new declared heel and I threw up a tweet as I was live watching The Big Show bop up the Social Outcasts [...] So I'm thinking, 'Ok, I'm in heel-mode, how am I gonna critique this on Twitter?' Cause now it's my job. I'm clocking in! I'm gonna clock in at the crib!"
His words would have ramifications away from the screen. He was informed via email that he was banned from the locker room, and when he tested this, his gear was thrown into the corridor as he trained. Bredl too would soon be gone from the company.
