Eli Drake, the 'Namer of Dummies', lived up to his sobriquet when, during a podcast with X-Pac, he put the burn on former NXT trainer Bill DeMott for his Performance Centre tenure coming to a premature end.

The future Impact and NWA man was part of a clutch of hopefuls drafted into the evolving NXT training programme in 2013, where he was given the very typical Full Sail name 'Slate Randall'. It's fair to say things did not go great for Slate; his time in Florida was cut short after a year, without having ever graduated beyond an enhancement status.

It wasn't a lack of talent, but friction with head coach DeMott which Drake cites as being partially responsible for losing him his job. "[He] and I did not get along," he told Waltman, before sarcastically adding, "What a surprise, everybody! This just in: Bill DeMott didn't get along with somebody!"

Drake explained how, for no apparent reason, his trainer would go cold on him, until eventually he heard the rumour that DeMott outright hated him. A confrontation, unsurprisingly, failed to resolve the problems.

Though Drake is convinced the former Hugh Morrus had a hand in his less than hilarious departure, he admitted that "at the end of the day, it falls on me."

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
