10 Wrestlers Who Brought WWE Careers Back From The DEAD

5. LA Knight

Confession time: The guy writing this article thought LA Knight would be a WWE midcarder at best. In fact, he told friends that perhaps NXT would even be the ceiling for ex-IMPACT man Eli Drake. It's easy to laugh at that now, but take a gander at WWE's grand plan for the man when he moved from developmental to the main roster.

He didn't even wrestle, for crying out loud! Knight became a manager, was renamed Max Dupri, and hung around with Maximum Male Models. It was a lowly spot, one that failed to satisfy LA's ambitions. Somehow, he talked WWE into switching things up, left MMM, ditched the Dupri name and started building his reputation all over again.

Now, Knight is headlining PLEs in Saudi Arabia opposite Roman Reigns. That's insane, but he richly deserves such spots. LA consistently gets some of the best reactions on WWE TV, and he has every chance of reaching the upper tier for good.

Well played, sir. Sometimes, it's nice to be wrong.
