10 Wrestlers Who Changed Managers

9. Jeff Jarrett - Jim Cornette To Tennessee Lee

Double J made his debut in the WWE during the era when every wrestler needed a side gig. For Jarrett that was being a supposed country music star that would lambast legends of the genre while proclaiming the greatness of his rarely heard singing voice. The Original Manager €“ Though Jarret went it alone during his first run in the WWE, Jim Cornette took the managerial reins when he returned to the WWE in 1998 as part of the invading NWA faction that also included the likes of Dan Severn and The New Midnight Express. Jarrett even held the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship during that period, not that this meant a whole lot to WWE fans given that the NWA was hardly considered legitimate by that point.
The Change €“ It wasn€™t long before Jarrett decided that Cornette€™s managerial services were no longer needed and he switched over to Tennessee Lee, while also reprising the country singer gimmick that he had used during his first stint in the WWE. The partnership only lasted for a couple of months and also cost Jarrett the NWA strap after Cornette stripped him of the title for his defection, marking it out as one of the least successful managerial changes in the history of the company.
