Hulk Hogan might have often bragged about having "the largest arms in the world", but putting one of them out to try and absorb the damage of falling from a few feet in the air on to your a*se for decades wasn't going to stop his hips being reduced to dust.

Levied as both criticism and praise towards 'The Hulkster' over the years, his limited move set suited a finisher as simplistic as the leg drop. It was to his credit that he never needed anything more, but also helpful that his big boot and - in Japan at least - Axe Bomber also sufficed as he began to wind down.

Hogan's road-battered body simply couldn't sustain the odd sensation of hitting the deck from a height - when he was able to work special occasion matches at the end of his career, he'd almost always find a way to avoid any further suffering.

And it could have been worse than it ended up, too...
