10 Wrestlers Who Completely Changed To Become Main Event Stars

2. Scott Steiner

The Change: Gradually, Scott Steiner (who was always in phenomenal physical shape) started adding more muscle to his frame in the mid-to-late-'90s. By the end of the decade, he had cut his long dark hair, grown out some facial hair, bleached everything and morphed from smiling tag-team wrestler into the 'Big Bad Booty Daddy'.

How It Helped: Steiner's shift away from standard wrestling leotard to chain mail, sunglasses and obnoxious posing made him a sensation in WCW. He was ready to leave his brother Rick behind and become a main-event level star, so that's exactly what he did. Scott even found time to talk about how all the women in the crowd were his 'freaks".

Charming.

Channeling the spirit of 'Superstar' Billy Graham (a nickname Steiner used himself for a spell), and showing more personality than he had for the previous decade, Scott rightly worked his way towards the WCW Title and an overdue headline push. WCW, it seems, liked his new look just as much as fans.
