An unlikely one, given the infrequent nature of Colt Cabana’s in-ring work, but if you like narrative in your wrestling, boy is there a juicy one here. Cabana and Punk were best friends for years before the latter’s errant comments about WWE on Cabana’s podcast led to legal action and recrimination. They went their separate ways, but now work on the same show.
What better way to push through the awkwardness than to beat each other up? The possibility of a Punk/Cabana head to head was part of the discourse pending Punk’s arrival, but he’s been waylaid with feuds and an impressive weekly workrate. It’s a match that, if you’re not familiar with their deep backstory, you might not be too interested in.
