10 Wrestlers Who Couldn’t Hide Their Anger At Bad Creative

9. Paige’s One WWE Regret

Paige, when making an appearance at Starrcast V, was probed about the most controversial chapter of her WWE career. She said it was the one moment of her run that she regrets.

At Survivor Series 2015, she was set to face Charlotte Flair for the Divas title, before which she participated in the mandatory contract signing on Monday Night Raw. Nobody remembers a single thing about it other than that line.

That line was a reference to Charlotte’s brother Reid, who had tragically passed away, aged just 25, in 2013. Charlotte vowed to “fight every single day” just like her family always had. In response, Paige was scripted to say “Your little baby brother…he didn’t have much fight in him, did he?”

This was unconscionable. Wrestling has an awful history with cheap heat, and this was one of the most offensive examples of it - especially since Ric wasn’t prepared to hear it beforehand.

Paige hardly performed the line with the cackling malice intended, for which she absolutely cannot be blamed. She could barely bring herself to say it, and you can even see her expression twist into an appalled apprehension as Charlotte tees it up.

She knew it was deplorable.
