10 Wrestlers Who Cracked WWE's Secret Code

10. R-Truth

R-Truth 24/7 Championship

R-Truth's enduring power as an entertainer is evident in his longevity. Quietly, the 24/7 division kingpin is one of WWE's longest-serving wrestlers, having enjoyed a consistent role since returning from his successful TNA run in 2008.

He has spent much of this period as an undercard comedy act, working wacky backstage segments and only the occasional match. Since the 24/7 Title's 2019 inception, much of that scene has revolved around him. He is the embodiment of surprise golf course roll-ups, Benny Hill-style backstage chases, and other gags. Even when out of immediate contention while the likes of Reggie and Dana Brooke vie for the strap, Truth is the first person that comes to mind when speaking of the scene.

Is this a good thing? Creatively, perhaps not. WWE "comedy" misses more than it hits, though Truth occasionally stands out as a genuinely funny guy in a largely unfunny environment. Nonetheless, it doesn't necessarily matter if you enjoy Truth's work or not because Vince McMahon most certainly does. The 50-year-old has given himself a job for life by tapping into something that clicks with the decision-makers, which is why he'll be around for a long, long time to come.
