10 Wrestlers Who Destroyed Themselves For Terrible Matches
3. Cactus Jack Cracks His Head Off The Concrete (WCW Clash Of Champions X: Texas Shootout)
Mick Foley was no stranger to throwing his body into absolutely horrendous situations throughout his legendary career, falling off the top of cells, taking a sickening amount of chair shots to the skull, and being put through blazing tables during his time on WWE television alone.
Yet, most of those moments of horrific violence helped very much elevate the contests they were involved in, whereas the disgusting impact Foley took to his skull when battling on WCW's Clash of Champions X TV special did nothing to save a rather dull five-minute bout.
Said match saw Cactus Jack Manson taking on a Mil Máscaras putting the absolute bare minimum amount of effort and energy into the pair's instantly forgettable battle. And in an attempt to spark some much needed life into the entirely flat match, Foley reacted to a dropkick from his opponent when stood on the apron by launching himself back-first onto the unforgiving floor outside.
The sound that followed the fearless performer's head cracking off the concrete was and still is chilling. And while he'd still end up on the losing side of this largely boring waste of a spare few minutes, Foley at least just about walked out of this one feeling like a star who'd risk it all to be the name on fans' lips.
