10 Wrestlers Who Didn't Get The Reaction They Wanted

7. Tommy Dreamer Is Grateful For Reaction That Doesn't Exist

Departing from the theme momentarily - that theme being "WWE has routinely told you to go f*ck yourself, which just might account for the idea that people are quite enjoying a promotion that doesn't do this because why the f*ck would it" - let's revisit a nice attempt at a heartfelt reaction gone awry.

Tommy Dreamer bled ECW in an attempt to define it.

Mileage varies on his approach to the character, mostly because you don't actively become a folk hero - that status is granted - and there was a feeling among some that he reached too hard towards it. But even those who felt it was a little cornball couldn't begrudge that his heart was in the right place. He was committed to the cause and he knew he wasn't an Ace figure, which is an altogether worse thing to cosplay as Triple H Jeff Jarrett.

At Night of Champions 2009, Dreamer expected to be embraced as ECW Champion in a defence against Christian. He even mouthed "Wow" at the reaction he didn't receive. Whether it was because WWECW was such a diluted barely-there emulation, or the PG WWE audience was so drastically different, Dreamer had to nearly cry for no reason in quite a pitiful scene.

The kendo stick shots probably stung less.
