10 Wrestlers Who Didn't Know When To Quit
2. The Undertaker
It's been said enough that The Undertaker's search for the perfect final match was almost a disaster. Nobody's spoiled the legacy of the Deadman more than 'Taker himself.
That might sound harsh to one of WWE's most popular characters, but his career went off a cliff when The Streak ended in 2014. 'Taker started showing his age and he knew it better than anyone; he just wanted to be happy with his last match and retire in peace.
His last great feud was against Brock Lesnar in 2015, then a series of disappointing matches happened. He struggled through the main event of WrestleMania 33 with Roman Reigns, squashed John Cena in some bizarre booking, then plodded through a feud with D-Generation X.
It was the horrible match with Goldberg in Saudi Arabia where fans really started noticing how bad things were.
It was necessary because of the pandemic, but having 'Taker face AJ Styles in a cinematic Boneyard match was the right choice to protect a far less capable Mark Calaway.
He finally got the last match he wanted, but he should've ended his career sooner. Some would say that when The Streak ended, the aura of The Undertaker disappeared. Others think when he put over Reigns it was the right time.
Either of those would've been much better than seeing him keep turning up Saudi Arabia without the ability to go anymore.
