10 Wrestlers Who FORGOT What They Were Supposed To Do

2. Papa Shango Forgets To Run In

The main event of WrestleMania VIII was supposed to end with Papa Shango running down the ring to break up Hulk Hogan's pinfall on Sid Justice.

Sid had just taken Hogan's legendary leg drop and was down for the count, waiting for the voodoo shaman to save the day. Unfortunately, no amount of dark magic could have rescued this match's abysmal ending.

Shango missed his cue and was late entering the arena. As a result, Sid was forced to kick out of the leg drop - which nobody did at the time - and his manager, Harvey Whippleman, made the DQ instead.

Charles Wright, the man who played Papa Shango as well as characters like Kama Mustafa and The Godfather, has claimed that the timing error was not his fault. He has said in interviews that he was told to go when he got the signal, but that the signal came way too late.

Regardless of what the reason was, WrestleMania VIII was always scheduled to end in a disqualification and that is a lame finish no matter which way you slice it.

Thank the lord that The Ultimate Warrior made his return after the bell had rung to send the fans home happy.
