10 Wrestlers Who Got Into Incredible Shape This Year

Yes, 'The Animal' again found stepping back in the ring a challenge (literally - the poor f*cker did nothing for his reputation stumbling over the rope upon entering at WrestleMania 35), but it was hard not to marvel at the sight of 50-year-old Grandad rocking a jaw-dropping wrestler physique of old for his 'Show Of Shows' spectacle.

Though half of his torso was covered in yet more tattoos, he'd lost none of the intimidating star aura that made Vince McMahon a small fortune in the mid-2000s. Big Dave retired after the contest, suggesting that the entire vehicle was orchestrated for him to have one last moment in the wrestling spotlight. He'd made sure to at least look his best for the occasion.

As an actor escaping for Hollywood from 2010 onwards, Batista's enjoyed more success than most predicted. Not really needing WWE (along with the hugely underwhelming 2014 comeback) seemed to have soured relations as a result, but he gave his body to the cause even if the match wasn't structured to make the best of his imposing bulk.
