10 Wrestlers Who Got Into Phenomenal Shape

Credit where it's due - these wrestlers put their bodies through hell in and out of the ring.

You don't have to be super muscular to be a professional wrestler.

With the current mayhem emanating out of All Elite Wrestling following All Out 2022, it's easy to forget that Eddie Kingston had recently served a suspension due to clobbering Sammy Guevara backstage. To be fair, the 'Spanish God' criticized Kingston's physique, which drew a lot of ire from the IWC.

A couple of months ago, Booker T slandered Adam Cole due to his slight frame, telling him to put more muscle on and drawing the backlash of Twitter. Nobody has the right to tell someone how they should look, and for years, rumours were that Vince McMahon would change his mind when he looked at someone in Gorilla and thought them too small.

But wrestlers should be commended for their dedication not only to their craft, but to their athleticism, and there have been numerous examples of wrestlers knuckling down, putting their nutrition first and clearly putting their body through the ringer to achieve incredible results. This can lead to increased interest from the fanbase, a push up the card or the opening up of opportunities that might not have been there before.

Some of these transformations are very impressive and show what can be done with serious dedication.

10. Chris Jericho

Give the man some credit.

Throughout his (mainly) entertaining run in All Elite Wrestling, Chris Jericho has once again shown that he should always be in the conversation when it comes to discussion around the greatest of all time.

His run as 'Le Champion', complete with bubbly-filled goodness, was the calm and steady hand the new promotion needed, and Jericho responded to the responsibility with some of the best work of his career. He wasn't as dynamic in the ring as he once was, and as he passed half a decade in age, it was accepted that his usually well toned physique would begin to loosen.

But man, the internet gave him pelters. Twitter, a usual cesspool of abuse, body shammed the legend for his bloated look, and considering he was embarking on a (not so) cool run as a babyface, it looked like the leader of the Jericho Appreciation Society was trundling towards retirement.

However, in 2021, during a tour with Fozzy, Jericho found himself in hospital for unspecified medical issues. It's no secret the man liked to party but since the turn of the year, the former Y2J has stuck two fingers up at the haters in the best way possible, by shredding his body to such an extent that he looks and moves like a man ten years younger.

Like we said, give the man some credit. He looks great, and it's coincided with a fantastic 2022.
