10 Wrestlers Who Got Pissed Off At Critics

9. Jerry Lawler

Booker T Dave Meltzer

In 2018, Jerry Lawler, legendary Memphis wrestler and American Breast Enthusiast, took a very brief detour from rallying against the "PC culture" that "framed" Hulk Hogan and set his sights on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer, which was weird, since he's a beneficiary of his reporting blind spots.

Speaking on his Dinner with the King podcast, Lawler had the following to say:

"[The Wrestling Observer Newsletter] was just insider information that people in the wrestling business would try to protect from the fans. These were things in the wrestling business – stuff about their personal lives they felt shouldn’t have been out there," said Lawler, as if a damn pro wrestler has earned the right to escape scrutiny for f*ck's sake.

"Most of the wrestlers couldn’t stand the guy. The promoters hated him because they felt like he was bad for the business and I felt the same way," he continued, which is probably not untrue, but this and similar claims made by JBL don't really hold water when one looks at the key figures with whom Meltzer is friendly - The Rock, Chris Jericho, Ric Flair...

Also, when Lawler had an ax to grind over his and ex-wife Stacy's 2001 exits from WWE, to whom did he give his dirt?

D'oh!
