10 Wrestlers Who Grabbed The Brass Ring In 2020

3. Thunder Rosa

Eddie Kingston
AEW

Thunder Rosa may have recently lost the NWA Women's Championship, but the legit badass has only served to further improve her stock throughout 2020.

Like certain other wrestlers, Thunder Rosa is one of those who was given the chance to showcase her skills in a one-and-done match for AEW. And like some of those other names, Thunder Rosa grabbed the ball and ran with it.

To be fair to La Mera Mera, she instantly grabbed the attention when she debuted on NWA Powerrr towards the end of last year. With the presentation of her character and her clinical in-ring style, Thunder Rosa immediately stood out from the pack. After AEW Women's Champion Hikaru Shida pleaded for a worthy challenger to her crown, Thunder Rosa answering that call made complete and total sense for Rosa, for AEW, and for the NWA.

Right now, there are all kinds of rumours and rumblings as to what the future has in store for Thunder Rosa. Still contracted to the NWA through until next year, you can be guaranteed something special when and where Thunder Rosa finds herself competing - be that in professional wrestling or in MMA.

In the most trying of times here in 2020, Thunder Rosa has made the very best of what could've been an extremely bad situation - particularly with the NWA having not been able to run shows for several months.
