10 Wrestlers Who Had More Gold Than They Knew What To Do With
6. RVD
Rob Van Dam is no stranger to holding multiple title belts. Back in his ECW days he had two separate runs as ECW Tag Team Champion whilst already holding the ECW Television Championship. Technically, he also briefly held the European Championship and later the Hardcore Championship alongside the Intercontinental Championship when he was on his title unification spree back in 2002.
Prior to One-Night Stand in 2006, RVD was arguably one of the greatest wrestlers never to have held a World Championship. But, just like the No. 420 bus, you wait ages for one and then two come along at once. With help from Edge, who rode to the arena on a motorbike apparently, RVD pinned John Cena to win the WWE Championship.
Two nights later, Paul Heyman awarded him the newly reactivated ECW World Championship as well. Having unsuccessfully chased the ECW Championship for years, it was a symbolic moment. But, rather than ditching the WWE strap, Van Dam decided to keep it, 'because it spins'. In doing so, he became the first man in history to hold both the WWE and ECW titles at the same time, whilst also being only the second man in history, after John Cena, who actually liked the design of the spinner belt.
