MJF Revealed As Creative Driving Force Behind Major AEW Storyline (AEW News)

MJF was a "driving creative force" in the AEW Redemption main event.

With AEW Redemption only a matter of days away, some fans have been left scratching their head at that PPV's main event being Kenny Omega defending the AEW World Championship against Kevin Knight, rather than the originally reported plan of Omega facing MJF at Redemption.

Previously, it's believed that Redemption would've seen Kenny Omega challenging MJF for the AEW World Title, though those plans were brought forward to the Beach Blast edition of Dynamite earlier this month; reportedly a change that Max himself pushed for. Since then, last week's Dynamite saw Kevin Knight set up to challenge Omega at Redemption.

On the Redemption main event, Fightful Select notes that it was actually MJF as the "driving creative force" behind the idea of putting the Jet in that Redemption spot against the Best Bout Machine. While he didn't specifically push for Knight in that spot, it was more a case of the Salt of the Earth being in favour of whoever the TNT Champion was to be the one facing Kenny at Redemption. Of course, Kevin Knight won the vacant TNT Title in a Casino Gauntlet at Dynasty back in April.

This Fightful report also states that MJF was in favour of Kevin Knight joining the Don Callis Family, though adds that Max denies this.

As for MJF's current status, he's taking some time off from AEW right now, with him still expected to be factored into All In at Wembley Stadium next month.
