10 Wrestlers Who Had No Business Competing In Money In The Bank

Who wasn't a great fit during Money In The Bank ladder matches?

According to Chris Jericho in one of the man's best-selling books, he was the guy who came up with the initial concept for what would become known as 'Money In The Bank'. Pitching the idea to Vince McMahon and WWE creative, Jericho envisioned a match which would help him steal the show at WrestleMania 21 in 2005. Not having a main feud to sink his teeth into, Y2J was placed in a multi-man scenario, one which he would discuss on-screen with Monday Night Raw GM, Eric Bischoff. That's where the match was born, and it's shown itself to be an extremely popular addition to WWE's product. Up until 2010, the idea was a WrestleMania exclusive, before the promotion made the decision to introduce Money In The Bank as a standalone Pay-Per-View. In a way, whilst the shows have been high quality and exciting ever since, that diluted the premise a little, especially when there were multiple bouts of the same type on each card. Of course, this extension of Jericho's brainchild meant there needed to be more wrestlers involved, something which has led to some baffling choices. All of the men included on this list do - or did - have a role to play in WWE, but they either weren't believable options to win or simply didn't suit the ladder-based brawling of the contest.
