10 Wrestlers Who Had Their Gimmicks Stolen

4. The Undertaker

The Undertaker is perhaps the WWE€™s most iconic character. While others have achieved more popularity and mainstream attention -- such as Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin -- the Undertaker is one of the longest lasting gimmicks in wrestling. While Taker€™s best days are behind him -- with rumors of a possible retirement on the horizon -- the Deadman€™s legacy remains. Despite competing as the Undertaker character for nearly his entire career, Mark Calaway is not the only man to lay claim to the moniker. In 1994, with Calaway sitting at home due to injury, a new Undertaker was introduced. Initially, this incarnation of the character was simply treated as the real deal. Portrayed by Calaway€™s personal friend, Brian Lee, the UnderFaker (as fans would dub him) had aligned himself with the €œMillion Dollar Man€ Ted DiBiase. After some time, DiBiase and his impostor Undertaker were confronted by Paul Bearer. Bearer claimed that he had been in contact with the real Deadman and a match was set between the two Undertakers for that year€™s SummerSlam. The genuine Undertaker returned and defeated the impostor in their main event match -- although it took three tombstones to seal the deal. Ultimately, the fake Taker would never be seen again, as he was vanquished by the one and only Deadman.
