10 Wrestlers Who Had To Take A Break... Only To Return Better Than Ever
5. Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar left WWE after WrestleMania XX, having been burned out physically and mentally and accomplished a lot in his time away. He pursued a career in the NFL at the age of 27, even signing with the Minnesota Vikings for a short period of time. He travelled to Japan and won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, successfully defending it against the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura, Giant Bernard and Akebono.
He debuted for UFC and quickly became the UFC Heavyweight Champion and the biggest attraction in mixed martial arts. He survived diverticulitis where at one point a 12-inch piece of his colon was removed. Yes, Brock Lesnar is every bit a beast as Paul Heyman routinely claims him to be.
In 2012 Brock finally returned to WWE after eight years away. He learnt a lot in those eight years that made him have more drawing power than ever before in WWE. He changed his style and attire to more revolve around MMA, exerting his dominance in matches like no one had ever witnessed in pro wrestling. His part-time status too made him a must-see Superstar whenever he wrestled.
He was the one in 21–1 when he beat The Undertaker’s WrestleMania Streak and introduced John Cena to Suplex City at SummerSlam in 2014. He became WWE Champion again as well as the Universal Champion multiple times. He had some amazing performances at Extreme Rules 2012, SummerSlam 2013, Royal Rumble 2015 and Royal Rumble 2020 to name a few.
