10 Wrestlers Who Have Hit The Glass Ceiling In WWE
6. Sami Zayn
Sami Zayn, the TV character, is a real piece of sh*t. There isn't a more annoying heel in WWE today. When it comes to making you want to punch him right in his smug little face, the man is gifted, and as he squeals, yelps, and jumps up and down at Shinsuke Nakamura's every movement, nobody is more obnoxious. He's as good at boiling p*ss as a villain as he as at generating sympathy as a babyface.
Rami Sebei, the performer, is a real gem. His Sami for Syria fund generated well over $100,000 for beleaguered civilians deprived of a functioning healthcare system in the war-torn country, using the money to establish a mobile clinic for those in need. Revived in 2019, the campaign helped treat more than 5,000 people between April and August this year.
That Zayn is such a credit to himself inside the ring and out is why he may never be pushed beyond his current level. When it comes to wrestling, he's so good at getting his arse kicked that it works against him, with WWE typecasting him as an also-ran a long time ago (his 2019 win/loss record is an abysmal 2-17). Away from the squared circle, Zayn's humanitarian efforts aren't in accord with WWE's political leanings.
Petty? Yes. One of the key reasons he has been relegated from full-time wrestler to full-time manager? Absolutely.
