10 Wrestlers Who Have Hit The Glass Ceiling In WWE

4. Cedric Alexander

Cedric Alexander is probably going to become WWE United States Champion at some point in the near future. Good for him, but it'll ultimately mean nothing.

Recent weeks have shown that while WWE are content to let the former Cruiserweight kingpin show flashes of in-ring brilliance, they have no interest in getting him over. July's Gary Garbutt angle was a hilarious self-own from creative. Alexander has since gone 50/50 with Drew McIntyre and fallen to AJ Styles twice, including a clipped Clash of Champions Kickoff match that saw Cedric start fast, only to fall victim to a prolonged beatdown, this preventing him from building any kind of "momentum" (if such a thing even exists in WWE anymore).

If it happens, winning the US Title will come via fortuitous roll-up after which Alexander will celebrate like he, himself, can't believe he pulled it off. Michael Cole will scream "he stole one," Styles will look shocked, and nobody will be convinced that Alexander is a threat because WWE aren't interested in presenting him as one.

Cedric is another victim of WWE's broken star-making machine. 50/50 booking and fluke victories exacerbate the problem.
