10 Wrestlers Who Have Suddenly Disappeared
6. Miro
Speaking of men who have all the tools to be AEW Champion but will never be...
There have been numerous paragraphs written about the disastrous booking of Miro after he needlessly lost the AEW TNT Championship in late 2021. It was a noble failure, which turned disastrous, to try and book Sammy Guevara as a valiant babyface, but sacrificing one of the best things of the entire year to do so looks like a bad decision in hindsight. To be honest, Miro should still be TNT Champion right now.
After a lukewarm debut as 'The Best Man' alongside Kip Sabian, the Bulgarian morphed into the terrifying 'Redeemer', and over the course of the year he became one of the most believable stars in the company. Already carrying a loyal fanbase, Miro stacked on fans and was riding a wave of popularity that looked destined to take him to the top of the card.
The matches were brutal. The theme music was fantastic. His one liners were impeccable.
But it does feel like Miro has fallen foul of Tony Khan. He had time off in 2022 to film a TV show and reports have stated that he turned down an angle to return to TV in the autumn of 2022. So, it's not all on Khan.
Still, it's outrageous that a star of such magnitude has only wrestled four times since he lost to Bryan Danielson at Full Gear 2021! Return to us, Miro. We miss you!
