10 Wrestlers Who Left You Hanging On Every Word
7. Sid
On the subject of Sid...
Sid was the best. Sid broke the hearts of so many wrestling fans earlier this year because WWE announced him for the RAW Reunion, but then, as Sid is wont to do, he dropped out. An erratic man - his path was a strange and difficult one - Sid was so endlessly fascinating because he was once absolutely not a joke and a punchline, often throughout the course of a single promo. This is a man who will take one of two weapons to a fistfight: a pair of scissors and a utensil with which to clean car windows.
Intimidating but also too inadvertently funny to truly take seriously, at WrestleMania VIII, Sid cut off Mean Gene Okerlund's interview by calling him a "fat, bald-headed little oaf!" before delivering a trademark spiel unreal in its screaming intensity and quiet menace.
Sid was a performer who somehow contrived to put on the most clichéd performance of an unstable man - he laughed maniacally to himself with his eyes pinched closed - and made it credible.
