If you've ever read the name "Vic Steamboat" somewhere online, your first thought was probably "This website needs better editors, that's a horrible misspelling of the name Rick". But more than likely, they were actually referencing The Dragon's younger brother, the much lesser-known Vic.

Vic got into the business a decade after his older brother, who was fast on his way to becoming one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Vic adopted his brother's ring surname, despite his real name being Vic Blood, which actually sounds more like a ring name than the one he chose. That should tell you how desperate he (and his promoters) were to be associated with Ricky's status.

But playing the "my brother is The Dragon" card doesn't guarantee similar success. Vic spent 99 percent of his career floating around the independent circuit. He wrestled one match for WCW in 1996 against Arn Anderson, and the grimace on Arn's face from bell to bell perfectly sums up Vic's (in)abilities in the ring.

Vic Steamboat's wrestling style can be summed up like this: The basic moveset of Ricky Steamboat, but executed with the precision and patience of an electrocuted catfish. It's not a pretty sight, and when you're constantly being compared to perhaps the greatest ring technician this profession has ever known, it's going to look even worse.
