10 Wrestlers Who Married Their Fans

4. Whisper (Shawn Michaels)

Shawn Michaels was the "fanboy" on this occasion.

He was the one checking out episodes of WCW Nitro during some downtime in 1999, and he spotted Whisper doing some dance routines pre and post-ad breaks. As the story goes, ol' HBK asked some friends over at 'Dubya-C-Dubya' who she was, and things snowballed from there.

Shawn had a slice of luck too; Whisper, who was actually called Rebecca, ended up working out at a gym Michaels' mate owned. Despite thinking it'd be a tad creepy if he muscled on in mid-workout, Shawn couldn't resist the chance to meet this woman he'd clapped eyes on when watching WCW telly.

They got along great, and he bagged her phone number. According to Michaels, Rebecca barely even knew who he was even though she worked in the pro wrestling industry (she wasn't really a fan). So, in other words, Shawn was her fan first, not the other way around.
