Nobody likes King Corbin, which is precisely he should be an Intercontinental Champion by April 2022.

Just think about the heat the former United States Champion could garner by ending the beloved reign of, for example, a Big E or a Shinsuke Nakamura. He shouldn't, however, win it from current champion Apollo Crews because who wants to see any interaction between Corbin and Commander Azeez? Any big babyface would fill the role nicely, really.

As the US Champion back in late-2017, the then-Baron Corbin was jeered horrendously. How, us fans thought, did this guy deserve to be champion? Because he had proven himself as a legitimate star. We don't like to admit it, but 'The Lone Wolf' is damn good at his job. Corbin doesn't play the heel who everybody cheers for; he plays the heel that gains a negative reaction.

There aren't many of his type left.

By placing a title that is known as the workhorse title on a guy like King Corbin, you're opening the door for the fanbase to tweet their harsh criticisms of the guy. He can wrestle and he does have an excellent moveset for a guy we're supposed to boo; pure championship material.
