10 Wrestlers Who Never Lived Up To Their Early Promise
3. Teddy Hart
Teddy Hart - the man who could've told you first-hand that CM Punk's UFC adventure was a terrible idea - currently serves as wrestling's foremost cautionary tale, if nothing else.
He is a gifted mechanic and aerialist, a talent adept at pulling off a procession of awe-inspiring and inventive catch moves. Hart never achieved longstanding success in a name promotion in which he could have learned how to bind them together with connective tissue, instead fashioning himself as a spot monkey bad boy - a scuzzy, skid row, weed-dealing Matt Jackson.
Bret Hart once described him as the best talent to have never made it - for understandable reasons.
Teddy has long been relegated to fringe promotions on the Mexican scene as a result of his shocking disciplinary record, which has ranged from going into business for himself without opponent foreknowledge to (since-withdrawn) sexual assault charges.
His status as an untouchable, un-hireable renegade seems assured. He does not seem to have the inclination to build bridges through humility and forgiveness. In his words, he, as told to Rolling Stone earlier this year, "only gets on his knees for God, or maybe to lick p*ssy."
