10 Wrestlers Who Never Should've Signed With WWE

When WWE bought out WCW in 2001, they didn't acquire the contracts of most of the major stars in the company. Those men had unique deals that went through Time Warner itself - deals WWE refused to match - so they had a choice: they could get paid the for the length of their contracts to sit at home, or they could accept buyouts of pennies on the dollar to negotiate with other wrestling organizations. Most (like Sting, Goldberg, and Scott Steiner) chose to wait, but some - including Diamond Dallas Page - took the buyout to go to WWE.

Page's interest in competing for WWE and taking part in the invasion was immediately "rewarded" when he was cast as a stalker to The Undertaker's wife, Sara. From the get go, the popular Page was treated as a creepy heel, and he was always on the losing end of exchanges with The Undertaker. Reportedly, he was seen unfavorably by Vince McMahon and The Undertaker for his overly friendly nature and his meticulous match planning. He tumbled down the card very quickly, even racking up a loss to Sara.

Page, who was 46 at the time, left WWE in 2002 with a neck injury, ending his full-time career. It's too bad he couldn't have headed into the sunset on a better note.
