10 Wrestlers Who Only Worked ONE WWE Match
2. Jushin ’Thunder’ Liger (2015)
It's hard to believe that this was almost 9 years ago.
Japanese legend Jushin 'Thunder' Liger graced WWE with his presence by wrestling at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn on 22 August 2015. His opponent? Pretty boy male model Tyler Breeze. It's unclear what happened to Breeze, but he eventually experienced a huge career change and went on to join the (fashion) police force.
OK, enough messing around - Liger matches are serious business! Jushin delighted the NXT live crowd during this exhibition encounter, then bowed out of WWE life. The impact he made on wrestling in his homeland was so keenly felt though that WWE inducted him into the Hall Of Fame anyway in 2020 (ceremony took place in 2021 due to the pandemic).
Having Liger work as a semi-regular on major NXT TakeOver shows would've helped the brand greatly, but it wasn't to be. A few weeks later, Jushin was back doing his thing for New Japan. That makes his match vs. Breeze one of WWE's coolest curiosities.
