10 Wrestlers Who Overdelivered In 2023

While there’s plenty of reason to wish NXT would go back to the good old days, the tweaked, youth-centric format is starting to pay dividends. 2023’s best example: Tiffany Stratton, whose exceptional year proves that they know what they’re doing down in developmental.

Stratton is just 24 years old and made her debut barely over two years ago, but can lay claim to one of the brand’s finest matches in the past 12 months, the extreme rules clash with Becky Lynch that headlined the excellent No Mercy PLE (the opening titles of which spoofed the N64 game of the same name, released when Stratton was just under one year old).

There’s the obvious fact that Stratton had a skilled and experienced dance partner, but she more than held her own. NXT is a land of especially brash characters, but her vicious queen bee is given a far more believable and human presentation than most. Coupled with a great finisher and an impeccable swagger, she could be main roster bound in 2023.
