10 Wrestlers Who Saved Their Careers TWICE With Gimmicks

6. Mark Henry (Sexual Chocolate and Hall Of Pain)

WWE

Say what you will, but 'Sexual Chocolate' was a movement that helped pump some much-needed spice into Mark Henry's wrestling career. People had yawned their way through his introduction as an Olympic strongman, and they'd been apathetic towards his run in the Nation.

Dating Mae Young (though ludicrous) gave Mark personality. His decision to seize the opportunity and ham up the ridiculousness of it all must be applauded too. It would've been easy for Henry to wonder why he was goofing off with a pensioner or dressing like human confectionary and phone it in.

He didn't, and the same could be said for his later emergence as a genuine player when he started shouting from the rooftops about his "Hall Of Pain". In 2011 and almost two decades on from his debut, Henry finally arrived at the top table.

Both characters were polar opposites, and yet they both gave Mark the chance to show how much zest he has for life and how much love he has for performing. Without them, he'd have been lost.
