10 Wrestlers Who Shared A Signature Move (And Who Did It Better)
1. Goldberg / Rhyno (The Spear / Gore)
It's the most precarious situation a wrestler can be in: Dazed, struggling to get to their feet, with their opponent crouched over in the corner, waiting for them to turn around so they can rush straight into their stomach and pulverize them into the ground.
Although an extremely wide number of performers have used the move over the years, there are really only two that both A) used it as a finishing move, and B) executed it to such a level that fans knew the match was about to be over.
Rhyno's Gore, as fans know it today, originated in his ECW feud with The Sandman, and was often delivered through a table that had been set up in the corner. Goldberg, a former defensive tackle in the NFL, brought out his Spear for the first time about a month after his debut, during a match with Scotty Riggs. He wouldn't use it as a true finisher in combination with the Jackhammer until a few matches later.
Who Did It Better? You could never question just how impactful Rhyno made this move look - especially since it was given that extra oomph through a chunk of wood.
And even though fans lost their minds over Goldberg's Spear, his reliance on the Jackhammer as a follow-up certainly dilutes the impact of the Spear as an outright finisher. Besides, Rhyno ran through people, legitimately looking like he was going to snap them in half.
