What if I told you that Stone Cold Steve Austin wasn't the first guy to use the Stunner as a finishing move?

"What!?"

I said, what if I told you someone did that modified jawbreaker before Austin had ever put on that glorious leather vest?

"What!?"

Get it...? This is a bit, like that annoying chant Stone Cold started back in--

"What!?"

Okay, last time, I promise. Ahem. Depending on which story you believe, he either borrowed it from John Laurinaitis, who was using the move in Japan, or Mikey Whipwreck, who Austin worked with briefly in ECW. For our purposes we're going to focus on Austin and Whipwreck's versions, since Johnny's Ace Crusher is really more of a cutter than a jawbreaker.

Who Did It Better? This is a more difficult choice than you might think, especially if you're unfamiliar with Whipwreck's Whippersnapper. Because not only did Mikey deliver a solid version of what most people know as the Stone Cold Stunner, but he'd often do it off the top turnbuckle. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the recipe for some agony.

In the end, though, Austin put a lot more of his personality into the move, imbibing it with ample attitude and a hearty "f*** you." Plus, Whipwreck never had anyone sell his move like The Rock did for Stone Cold. The edge has to go to Austin.
