10 Wrestlers Who Transcended The Business

9. John Cena

It's quite fitting that one of The Rock's last big rivals is now following in his footsteps outside of the ring.

A record-tying sixteen-time world champion, John Cena has worked incredibly hard to get where he is today and even harder to win over a lot of fans who once booed the mere mention of his name. He's now considered one of the best in-ring performers on the roster and has earned the respect of almost the entire wrestling world.

Outside of wrestling, Cena has broken into the mainstream, not once, but twice.

In 2005, Cena released his debut rap album, You Can't See Me. An album by a rapping wrestler sounds like something straight out of a comedy sketch, but this record was no joke. The album sold over 1.3 million units in the US alone and was certified Platinum by the RIAA.

Recently, Cena has also branched out into the world of movies, appearing in such films as Trainwreck, Sisters, and animated movie Ferdinand. He was also the star of one of WWE Studios' most famous films, The Marine.

But, let's be honest, most people just know him as that guy from that meme. But that's not a bad thing either.
