10 Wrestlers Who Turned Down Triple H

5. Eddie Kingston Thought He Was Better Than An NXT Coaching Job

After spending an age becoming one of the most compelling names on the independent scene, the irrepressible and undeniable Eddie Kingston eventually found himself being met with an offer from Triple H.

But rather disappointingly for The Mad King, said initial deal would only have covered coaching within WWE's Performance Center, a position Kingston would confess (via Talk Is Jericho) to not being able to give his all in due to feeling rather "bitter" and "angry" over not being given a shot at actually performing in a WWE ring.

Not too long after shaking up the system a touch during his AEW debut battle against Cody Rhodes in July 2020, though, Trips and the gang definitely felt there was money to be made in bringing the loudmouth veteran into the WWE/NXT mix.

Kingston would ultimately admit to the competition "talking about other things besides coaching" that time around, but would also explain to the All Elite promotion that took a chance on him how he'd been contacted by Trips' team.

Sure enough, it didn't take too long for Christopher Daniels to call the in-demand star up and offer him a contract shortly after, with Kingston repaying Tony Khan's belief in him by happily becoming All Elite.
