10 Wrestlers Who Turned Their Backs On Former Gimmicks

1. Emmalina

For months, WWE teased via a series of sunkissed vignettes that Emma - better known these days under her real name, Tenille Dashwood - would soon complete her transformation to 'Emmalina'. It was a huge rib on the company's part - they never had any particular time-frame for Dashwood's return, nor a particular plan for what exactly 'Emmalina' would be.

In the end, despite suggestions it'd be a tongue-in-cheek, bulge-in-pants nod to the swimsuit stylings of Sable and Sunny, Emmalina was, in fact, absolutely nothing at all. When the big premiere finally, finally came, out waltzed a glammed up 'Emmalina', only to announce that the reverse makeover - from Emmalina back to Emma - would now commence.

Two months hence, she came back under her previous, villainous persona as though nothing had ever happened. What a waste of everybody's time.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
