10 Wrestlers Who Turned Their Backs On Former Gimmicks

There comes a time when all children must be weaned off their mother's teat. For Chaz 'Beaver Cleavage' Warrington, that arrived at the rather advanced age of 28, during the middle of a live promo.

Warrington - who'd probably prefer you best remember him as Mosh of the Headbangers - was plunged tit-deep into a one-note, literally retrograde gimmick following the long-term injury to usual tag partner, Thrasher. In a parody of '50s sitcoms - a reference surely designed to please precisely one man - Warrington was refit as Oedipal oatmeal muncher Beaver Cleavage, replete with propeller beanie. A case of a-breasted development, you could say.

Obviously, it was the sh*ts, and the man himself knew it. Finally fed up of playing a 250lb manchild in love with his mama's waps, Warrington came to an abrupt halt mid-innuendo during a live segment opposite Michael Cole. "I can't do this anymore," he muttered, before flouncing from the scene.

A week later, Beaver Cleavage and his mother lovin' days were over. In a slice of Russo reality, Warrington reëmerged under his real name; his old mum was now his girlfriend. Talk about sour milk.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
