10 Wrestlers Who Went From WWE Main Events To Jobbers
From main event to doing the job... and we're not talking about the lame TV show.
With the wrestling landscape seemingly shifting and changing by the week, especially within Vince McMahon's empire, a performer going from hero to zero has never been such a regular occurrence.
This is far from a new development, however, as wrestlers have been headlining sold-out shows one minute and lying on their backs the next for decades. It doesn't matter if you're being billed as a human wrecking machine or an other-worldly Demon King, you can find yourself slipping down the totem pole at frightening speeds in a matter of no time in this cut-throat industry.
It isn't all doom and gloom, you'll be pleased to hear. Some of these main event faces turned jobbing disgraces found a way to halt the slump in the end, working their way back into a prominent position with some good ol' fashion hard graft and just the right amount of luck. Others, well, let's just say they weren't so fortunate.
From unstoppable monsters to once-in-a-generation game-changers, each and every name on this list learned the hard way that, even when gracing the top of the card, you're never too far away from doing the job for your fellow wrassler.
10. Dolph Ziggler
Never has a star flirted with the main event as often as Dolph Ziggler has without ever actually making a significant dent on the top of the card.
Now we're not knocking Ziggles as a performer, there's a reason the one-time Mr. Money in the Bank has stayed employed in Vinnie Mac's company for closing in on two decades. However, the speed that the star seems to go from WWE or World Heavyweight Championship contender to reliable jobber is rather frightening.
In the last year alone, Ziggler went from challenging old pal Drew McIntyre for his WWE Championship at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules to just about squeezing onto WWE's Monday night flagship via the disastrous Raw Underground in a matter of weeks.
It was the same story after his attempts to pry the WWE title away from Kofi Kingston and Dean Ambrose in 2019 and 2016, respectively, with The Show-Off soon slipping back down the ranks after a brief trip to the top.
Perhaps Ziggler is now doomed to be the perennial bridesmaid from here on out, or maybe the veteran can show the world one last time before he's done...
