10 Wrestlers Who Went Through Hell To Win (And Lost Anyway)

4. Darby Allin Goes Full Jeff Hardy (AEW Dynamite, 2022)

Out WTF-ing Jeff Hardy in the middle of a contest sporting ladders, steel step bumps, and many a weaponised chair is some achievement it has to be said.

And that's precisely what resident All Elite daredevil Darby Allin unbelievably managed to pull off back on May 11, 2022's edition of Dynamite when battling against The Charismatic Enigma in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

With Jeff already launching himself off of a multitude of objects and environments during his initial spell as part of the AEW roster, the multiple-time TNT Champion felt that the best way to conquer his fellow crash-test dummy was to beat him at his own game.

Cue a climb to the top of a frighteningly high ladder as a battered Hardy lay below on a bed of steel chairs, and Allin unleashing his own spectacular and brutal Swanton Bomb from the heavens. Not content with eating more chair than Hardy during that insane spot, Darby then proceeded to wipe out on the apron during a Coffin Drop attempt gone wrong before dodging Jeff's own Swanton onto some steel steps.

And after all that, and even nailing his veteran opponent with his tried and tested reverse diving senton, Hardy was still able to squeeze out a win with a sneaky roll-up. They call it the most devastating move in all of wrestling for a reason...
